Under the protocol between the Universidade de Évora and Olivais do Sul, in 2015 a trial of long-term pruning was initiated in a plot of hedgerow olive grove. The trial includes: 1) exclusively manual pruning and 2) mechanical pruning combined with manual pruning.
On March 8, the two entities invite all interested parties to participate in a Demonstration of Manual Pruning of Olive Trees in hedges. This field day is intended to show the test, proceeding to the demonstration of pruning with chainsaw in trees subjected to the same pruning solution since 2015.
The event will take place at Herdade da Azambuja, in Monte do Trigo, Portel (Coordinates: 38º 24' 50''N; 7º 43' 50''W).
